Sorting epithalon benefits claims by organism is the usual first move, and here it is not enough. The organism column tells you whether a finding came from a cell culture, a mouse, a rat or a person. It does not tell you the thing that matters most for this particular compound, which is whether anyone outside one research programme has looked for the same result.

That is the distinguishing feature of this evidence base and this page is organised around it. Sorting epithalon benefits by who reported them

The published work behind this compound is largely associated with Khavinson and colleagues in St Petersburg, covering pineal peptide preparations and claims about telomerase. Reported work includes cell culture, mice and rats, and human observational work produced within that same programme.

There are no registered interventional trials for this compound, so no trial identifier appears anywhere on this page, and there is no marketing authorisation in any jurisdiction. A registry text search returns records that mention the word while studying something unrelated, and quoting one of those would be worse than citing nothing.

Concentration in one group is not an accusation. Plenty of real findings start in a single laboratory. It does mean a reader cannot yet distinguish a property of the compound from a property of one group's methods, materials and assumptions, and that distinction is exactly what independent replication exists to make.

Telomerase in cell culture is a mechanism, not an outcome

The best known claim concerns telomerase activity, and it is a good example of a finding travelling further than its evidence.

Work in cultured human cells is a mechanistic observation. It says something about what happens to cells in a dish under conditions the experimenters chose, including a concentration in the medium that has no equivalent in a person. Between that and an outcome in a living human sit absorption, distribution, clearance, and everything an intact organism does that a dish does not.

Product copy compresses that distance to nothing. A sentence about cultured cells becomes a sentence about ageing, and the organism disappears somewhere in the rewriting. The honest version keeps the organism attached to the claim in every sentence, which is why every row of the table below carries one.

Lifespan claims and the animals they came from

Claims about lifespan in the literature associated with this compound concern mice and rats. Rodent lifespan work is a legitimate design and it is also the design most prone to being read as a human result.

Two limits apply regardless of how the studies were run. Amounts are reported per kilogram of animal body weight, and this page performs no conversion of those to a person. And an effect on the lifespan of a mouse is a statement about mice, which is why the row for it in the table says mice rather than people.

Human observational work exists within the same programme. Observational human work does not establish that an intervention caused an outcome, and observational work produced by the group that proposed the intervention carries the same replication question as the rest.

The final column reads the same all the way down, which is the point of printing it. On most compounds that column would vary, and its uniformity here is the single most useful fact about the evidence base.

The last row is different in kind. It is not a weakly supported research claim, it is marketing language with no measurement behind it, and it appears above the others on most product pages.

What the container arithmetic can add to a claim

Where this site is exact is on the material a claim would need. Take an assumed figure of 1 mg a day for ten days, which is the shape the literature associated with this compound tends to use. The figures are assumed for arithmetic and are not a recommendation.

That course is 10 mg of material. A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 10 divided by 2, which is 5 mg per mL, so 1 mg is 0.2 mL, or 20 units on a U-100 syringe, and ten withdrawals empty the container. A 50 mg vial with 5 mL gives 10 mg per mL, so the same 1 mg is 0.1 mL, or 10 units, and the course uses one fifth of the vial.

The useful output is not the reading. It is that a claim quoted as a daily amount, with no concentration attached, is unexecutable as written. Two people following the same sentence with different fill volumes will draw the same printed number of units and deliver masses that differ by a factor of two, and the sentence they were both following contains no error.

The same figures give a cost comparison without needing any price. Let the 10 mg vial cost P and assume the 50 mg vial is priced at three times that. Per labelled milligram the large vial is cheaper, at three divided by fifty against one divided by ten. Per milligram consumed by a single ten day course it is far worse, because 10 mg of 50 mg was used and the rest sits in a reconstituted vial with a stability limit running against it. Assume a laboratory policy of 28 days for reconstituted liquid, since no stability figure for this compound is asserted here, and the large vial gives up 40 mg unused. Cost per used milligram is then 3P divided by 10, three times the small vial's P divided by 10. A benefit claim quoted as a course, with no container named, hides that entirely.

Where the claim stops and the assumption starts

Arithmetic settles what left the vial. It has nothing to say about what happened afterwards, and for this compound the record that would speak to that is thin in a specific way.
