What is bpc 157 as a molecule, and what is it as a product
Take the molecular half first. Synthetic means it is assembled in a laboratory rather than extracted from anything. Pentadecapeptide fixes the length at fifteen amino acids, which is short as peptides go. Based on a partial sequence means it corresponds to a fragment of a larger protein rather than reproducing it, so it is a designed molecule with a natural starting point rather than a naturally occurring one. The pattern across those rows is the same. The label is a set of claims that make calculation possible, not a set of measurements that make it reliable. An independent assay tied to the batch number is the only thing that closes the gap, and a compound sold outside medicines regulation carries no requirement that one exists.
From a printed mass to a readable syringe
Once liquid goes in, the vial has a concentration, and concentration is the number that gives a syringe graduation any meaning:
concentration = labelled mass / added volume

A U-100 insulin syringe is graduated so that 100 units fill 1 mL, which makes one unit 0.01 mL. Multiply through and the mass in a single unit falls out. At 2.5 mg per mL, one unit holds 0.025 mg, or 25 mcg. At 5 mg per mL, one unit holds 50 mcg. At 10 mg per mL, one unit holds 100 mcg.
The important consequence is that a unit is a volume and never a mass. It measures how much liquid moved. What that liquid contained depends on a decision made earlier, by whoever chose the reconstitution volume, and that decision is invisible once the vial is closed. Any figure quoted in units alone is missing its denominator.
Note also that the added volume is a choice, not a property of the compound. The same 10 mg of powder can be spread through 1 mL or 5 mL, and the vial still holds 10 mg either way. Water changes the concentration and the resolution of the measurement. It does not change the inventory.

The efficacy literature is overwhelmingly rat work and cell culture work, and much of it comes from a small number of research groups. A registration is a published plan: a stated population, a stated outcome, a stated design. It is a real and checkable thing, and it is not a result. None of these studies has published efficacy results, so the correct summary carries both halves at once. Writing that BPC-157 has no human trials is false. Writing that human benefit has been demonstrated is also false.
Separately, BPC-157 holds no marketing authorisation from the FDA, the EMA or the MHRA. It is sold as a research chemical rather than as a medicine, which is a statement about regulatory review, not a statement about the molecule. Practically, it is the reason the label table above has so much in its third column: the oversight that would normally stand behind a printed mass is absent, and the buyer inherits that verification job.
Why the vial half of the answer matters more than it sounds
Someone who understands the molecule perfectly and the vial not at all can still be several times out on every calculation they make.
