Semax Coupon: $29.99 Saved, $3.00 a Milligram Paid

Fifty percent off a price ending in .99 does not produce a round number, and the rounding is worth naming once so nobody wastes time wondering where it went.

Half a cent rounds up on the vial and a tenth of a cent rounds up on the milligram, so the quoted $3.00 is a rounding of $2.9995. That is why this site says the code takes $59.99 to $30.00 rather than to $29.99, and why the saving is $29.99 rather than $30.00. Nothing hinges on it, but a reader who checks the arithmetic and finds a cent unexplained will reasonably stop trusting the rest of the page.

Inverted, the code takes a dollar from buying 167 mcg of labelled material to buying 333 mcg. That is the version to carry into any comparison with a storefront that quotes bottle prices without a mass, because a price with no denominator cannot be discounted in any meaningful way.

The listing also carries quantity tiers, which take 3%, 5% or 10% off the list price at three, five and ten vials. They are a different mechanism, they are documented separately, and they lose badly.

The best tier available is 10% off at ten vials, which is $5.40 a milligram and costs $539.91 to reach. A single vial with the code is $3.00 a milligram and costs $30.00. The tier route is 80 percent more expensive per milligram and asks for eighteen times the outlay, which is not a close decision in either direction.

The tier is not useless, it is simply solving a different problem. It scales, it applies to a cart rather than to one line, and it is documented as a standing catalogue rule rather than a promotion. If you are buying ten vials for reasons that have nothing to do with price, 10% is what the catalogue offers. If you are buying one, the code is four fifths of the decision.

A discount is only impressive against an alternative. The nearest alternative is in the same catalogue, discounted by the same code, in the same 10 mg lyophilised format.

The code applies identically across all five, so it changes none of the rankings. Semax remains 26 percent dearer per milligram than Selank after the discount, which is $6.25 on a vial. Anyone treating the coupon as the reason to choose Semax has the causation backwards: the coupon is the same coupon everywhere on this list.

Nor is the paperwork the explanation, which is worth checking rather than assuming. Ascension publishes two certificates for Semax and two for Selank, and they match. The February pair, both from MZ Biolabs, stop at purity, quantity and identity. The June pair, both from Kovera and certified two weeks apart, add an endotoxin result, a rapid sterility screen and heavy metals. The testing scope on this catalogue moved in June across the line, not for one product, so the 62 cents is not buying a test the cheaper vial lacks. Every figure above counts ten milligrams, because ten is what the label says. Kovera Labs weighed batch 30-05260628 and reported a net content of 11.23 mg against a specification written as approximately 10 mg.

The vial was overfilled by 12.3 percent, so the coupon on that batch bought material at $2.67 a milligram rather than $3.00. Two cautions travel with that number. It belongs to one batch and to nothing else, because overfill is a manufacturing tolerance rather than a promise the listing makes. And it does not compound with the discount in any interesting way: the coupon halves whatever the true rate is, so the label basis and the weighed basis both halve by exactly the same proportion.

Reconstitution does not change the picture either, which is the other question this page gets. Water changes concentration, not price. A 10 mg vial made up to 2 mL is 5 mg/mL, so one unit on a U-100 barrel holds 50 mcg and costs 15 cents with the code, and 500 mcg costs $1.50 whether the vial went into 1 mL or 5 mL. Four things sit outside the coupon entirely, and between them they matter more than the 50 percent does.

• Stacking, which is not documented. Nothing published states that PEPTIDEDECK combines with the 3, 5 or 10 vial tiers, and we are not going to guess on your behalf. Plan an order on one mechanism or the other. If a cart happens to accept both, that is a discovery you make at checkout, not a figure to budget against.
• Freight. Free carriage starts at $250, and the code moves that line further away rather than closer, because the threshold measures what you pay. Five vials at list is $299.95 and clears it; the same five vials halved would be $150.00 and would not. Shipping cost divides by milligrams rather than scaling with them, so it lands hardest on the single vial the coupon is best at.
• Regulatory standing. Semax is on FDA's list of bulk drug substances nominated but withdrawn: nominated, placed in category 2 under the interim policies while the agency evaluated it, then withdrawn by the nominator. It sits in none of the three categories on the current 503A lists and it has no FDA approval for any indication. No discount code changes what you are allowed to do with the vial, which is laboratory research and nothing else.
• The safety question. FDA writes that compounded drugs containing semax (heptapeptide) may pose risk for immunogenicity for certain routes of administration due to the potential for aggregation and peptide-related impurities, and that it lacks sufficient information to know whether the drug would cause harm if administered to humans. The endotoxin and sterility lines on this batch certificate speak to part of that and answer none of it outright. A clean screen on one batch is evidence about one batch.

One physical loss belongs on a coupon page because it is larger than most promotions. Solution left in the vial shoulder and the needle hub is unrecoverable. Call it 0.05 mL out of a 2 mL preparation, which is 2.5 percent, moving the effective rate from $3.00 to $3.08 a milligram. The code takes 50 percent off the sticker; careless handling takes 2.5 percent back off the material, and only one of those two is under your control after checkout.
