NAD+ where to buy is a grading question before it is a price question. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a coenzyme rather than a peptide, and it is sold by the gram rather than in the 5 to 10 mg vials the rest of this site prices. That changes the arithmetic, and it changes the failure mode. The thing most likely to be wrong with a gram of NAD+ is not the identity of the molecule but the grade of the powder it was packed from.
FDA has been unusually specific about that failure mode. In a compounding notice whose content is current as of 30 October 2024, the agency said it was aware of compounders using food-grade NAD+ sold by repackagers to make intravenous products, that ingredients identified as food grade are not suitable for compounding sterile drugs without appropriate processing because of the high risk of contamination with microbes and endotoxins, and that it had received adverse event reports following use of NAD+ injectable drugs including severe chills, shaking, vomiting and fatigue, some requiring medical treatment, consistent with excessive endotoxin levels.
What follows is a checklist rather than a vendor league table: eight criteria, the arithmetic that turns a gram of powder into a comparable number, and one supplier scored in the open including the row where the evidence runs out. NAD+ where to buy: eight criteria, ranked by what they rule out
The first two criteria are the ones a peptide checklist would not contain, and the only two FDA has written about for this compound. The middle four establish that the gram in the vial is the gram on the label. The last two separate a holder of stock from an intermediary who orders yours after checkout.

Fail 1 and 2 and the storefront has not answered the question behind FDA's adverse event reports. Fail 3 to 6 and the milligram figure you divide by is a claim rather than a measurement.
Grade before purity: the distinction FDA singled out for this compound
Purity and grade are different measurements, and buyers routinely treat the first as covering the second. Purity is a chromatographic answer to how much of a sample is the target compound. Grade describes the manufacturing and testing regime the material was produced under, which is where sterility, pyrogens and endotoxin control live.
A powder can be 99% NAD+ and still be food grade. Food-grade material is made to be eaten, where a gut and a liver stand between an endotoxin load and the bloodstream.
Endotoxins are lipopolysaccharide fragments from the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. They survive the conditions that kill the organism that produced them, which is why a sterile-filtered solution can still be pyrogenic and why sterility and endotoxin are separate tests. The bacterial endotoxins test, usually an LAL assay, returns a number.
For a buyer that collapses into one written question: is this material pharmaceutical grade or food grade, and does the certificate for my lot report a bacterial endotoxins result. FDA's own conditions for bulk substances used in compounding require a valid certificate of analysis and manufacture by an establishment registered under section 510. Research-chemical supply sits outside that framework, so the question has to be asked rather than assumed.
Reading the certificate: what it reports, and the line that is absent
Ascension Peptides publishes two third-party certificates against its NAD+ 1,000 mg listing: MZ Biolabs of Tucson, Arizona for lot 25-01260229, dated 26 January 2026, and Kovera Labs for batch 25-05260628, dated 14 June 2026. The quantity line is unusual and useful. Most listings hand you a number printed on a label, which leaves no way to tell a filled gram from a claimed one. This certificate carries a measured figure and the laboratory's own caveat with it: salts and sugars added to aid solubility and buffer pH are not normally detected by UV and are not counted as impurities. The gap between 1,000 mg on the label and 784.32 mg in the assay is therefore the difference between total vial contents and UV-detectable NAD+, not evidence of a short fill. Price both.
The endotoxin row is empty. That is the ordinary state of research-chemical certification rather than a scandal, and exactly why criterion 2 sits so high. A certificate reporting identity, purity and quantity has answered what the material is. It has not answered what else is in it.
The arithmetic: $5.20 per 100 mg on the label, $6.63 on the assay
NAD+ gets quoted per 100 mg here for a reason. A peptide vial holds 5 or 10 mg, so a per-milligram figure is the natural unit. A gram divided by that unit produces five cents per milligram, which looks like nothing next to $4.95 per mg retatrutide and tells you about neither. Per 100 mg keeps the comparison inside the compound.

The assayed basis runs about 27% dearer, and no competing listing we have seen publishes a measured quantity at all, so the usual comparison sets one measured number against a printed one.
The quantity tiers work on the list price, not the discounted price: three vials at $100.88 each, five at $98.80, ten at $93.60, which is $10.09, $9.88 and $9.36 per 100 mg on the labelled basis. What a gram looks like on a syringe barrel
Laboratory handling arithmetic, not a protocol. Add 10 mL of diluent to 1,000 mg and the solution is 100 mg per mL. A U-100 barrel is graduated so one unit is 0.01 mL, meaning one unit holds 1 mg, ten units hold 10 mg, and the vial is ten full 1 mL barrels. Halve the diluent to 5 mL and you have 200 mg/mL, where one unit holds 2 mg. Check the vial's capacity before assuming 10 mL fits, because headspace is a real constraint at gram scale. Six clear passes, one partial, one gap. Better than most of this market, and still not a pharmaceutical release specification, which is the right conclusion rather than a disappointing one. The gap on row 2 applies to essentially every research-chemical NAD+ listing. Note what the table avoids: no named rivals, and no restating of 99.66% as though it belonged to your vial. What the checklist cannot settle
- A certificate covers a batch on a date. Between the sampled aliquot and the vial in your hand sit filling, capping, storage and transit, none of which the laboratory saw.
- Research-use material is not a sterile drug product. Nothing a supplier publishes converts a research vial into something suitable for a person. The endotoxin criterion compares suppliers; it clears nothing.
- The regulatory position is neither approval nor prohibition. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) sits in Category 1 of FDA's list of bulk drug substances nominated for compounding under section 503A, updated 14 May 2026. Category 1 means FDA does not intend to take action against a compounder using the substance provided the conditions in its guidance are met, while it continues to evaluate. It is not built from amino acids and has no sequence, so peptide vocabulary does not apply.
