Five test rows, and the one that prints PASS instead of a value
Only one certificate exists for this compound, unlike the neighbouring Russian peptides which each carry two. Here is every row, and what each does and does not settle.
- Purity, 99.312% against a stated minimum of 98%. Measured by reversed-phase HPLC on a C18 column with diode-array detection at 214 nm, the wavelength that reads the peptide bond. The headroom above the floor is 1.31 percentage points, which matters because a vial sitting exactly at specification would carry two percent non-target material.
- Identity confirmed by LC-MS. The mass check stops a purity figure from being a precise measurement of the wrong molecule.
- Endotoxin safety screen, PASS against a limit of 0.5 EU/mL. The weakest row on the document, and not because it failed. It prints a verdict rather than a value and names no method. The compendial reference for bacterial endotoxins testing is USP Chapter 85, and a certificate naming it and reporting a figure in EU/mL tells you how much headroom the lot had. PASS tells you only that it was somewhere under the line.
- Microbial sterility screen, no growth. A screen, which is a shorter and less demanding test than a compendial sterility procedure.
- Heavy metals, negative for arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury. Reported as negative rather than as figures against limits, so again a verdict rather than a measurement.
Two details tie the document to a physical object. It prints report number KVR-2026-A36FF4 with an access code and a verification address at koveralabs.com, so it can be confirmed at the laboratory rather than only on the seller's site. And it records the cap colour as red and the crimp as silver, so the vial can be matched against the paper before anything is opened.
Nominated, placed in category 2, then withdrawn
The regulatory position decides which channels can legally sell you anything, so it belongs in a buying guide. Epitalon is not on the 503A bulks list, and appears in none of category 1, 2 or 3 on the lists FDA updated on 14 May 2026. It was nominated, placed in category 2 under the interim policies, and then withdrawn by the nominator. FDA describes that table as covering substances "previously in category 2 of the interim policies" that "were withdrawn by the nominators".
So the accurate sentence is that Epitalon sits on no current category list, and the common claim that it is a category 2 substance is stale rather than merely wrong. A compounding pharmacy has no lawful path to a bulk substance absent from the lists, which closes the prescription channel before a prescriber's willingness even arises.
What FDA did write about the compound is a testing statement, and it is worth quoting exactly once because it is the argument for weighting the certificate the way this page does:
Compounded drugs containing epitalon may pose risk for immunogenicity for certain routes of administration due to the potential for aggregation and peptide-related impurities. FDA has not identified safety-related information regarding epitalon for the proposed route of administration. Therefore, the agency lacks sufficient information to know whether the drug would cause harm if administered to humans.
Aggregation is peptide molecules clustering into larger assemblies; peptide-related impurities are the truncated and modified sequences solid-phase synthesis leaves behind. Both are invisible in a vial and both are measurable, which is why a purity result with a specification beside it outweighs any discount here. What $25.00 becomes on the bench: 2 mL, 4.82 mg/mL, 200 units
The last division turns a purchase into a working figure. What follows is laboratory handling arithmetic on a research material, not guidance for administering anything to a person.
Add 2 mL of diluent and the label basis gives 10 mg in 2 mL, which is 5 mg/mL. A U-100 syringe is graduated so 100 units equal 1 mL, so 2 mL is 200 units of graduations and 10 units is 0.10 mL, drawing 500 mcg.
